Holiday Detox Drink

Welcome back, friends!

We hope your Thanksgiving was filled with great food and, most importantly, great company. If you’re anything like us, your eyes might have betrayed your stomach yesterday to the point of feeling downright stuffed. Cheer up: we have just the thing to cure what ails. This detox drink is designed to help settle your insides while helping to remove any toxin build-ups--it also happens to be delicious!


Detox Drink

Makes 1 drink

For the honey syrup:

  • 4 chilies de arbol
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons water

For the cocktail:

  • 2 ounces apple cider
  • ½ ounce apple cider vinegar
  • ½ ounce ginger juice
  • 4 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • Soda

Make the syrup: In a small saucepan over high heat, toast the chilies until they are fragrant and beginning to darken in spots, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the honey and water to the pan; reduce the heat to medium and stir until the honey has melted into a syrup. Turn off the heat and let cool completely; discard the chilies.

In a tall glass filled with ice, add the apple cider, apple cider vinegar, ginger juice, bitters, and 1 teaspoon honey syrup. Top with soda and stir to combine.
