Ground cayenne is a wonderful way to perk up soups and sauces; here, it adds a back-of-the-throat burn to an otherwise sweet and salty snack.
Cayenne-Maple Popcorn
Yield: 8 cups
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cayenne
- 8 cups popcorn
- Flaky salt
In medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, maple syrup and cayenne. Cook, stirring until the butter is completely melted. Place the popcorn in a large bowl and pour the butter mixture over the popcorn. Stir to coat, then sprinkle with flaky salt to taste.
