A Salty Buzz Cocktail

by Jennifer Pantin on Aug 27, 2014

As the day's get shorter, and the nights cooler, it's time to say goodbye to fruity cocktails and frozen drinks. But since the leaves haven't quite begun to turn yet, there is still time to squeeze the last bit of fun out of summer - and this refreshing cocktail has the perfect amount of sweet and "sting" for the transition into fall.

A mixture of honey, whiskey, lemon and a salted rim this drink is simple to make - but still complex in flavor.

A Salty Buzz

1.5 Ounces Honey Syrup ( a 1:1 ratio of Honey and Hot Water)

.75 Ounces Lemon Juice

3 Ounces Whiskey

Ice Cubes

1 teaspoon Honey (for rim)

1 teaspoon Pequin Chili Salt (for rim)

Make honey syrup.

Dip rim of glass in honey, and then chili salt. Pour honey syrup in glass. I

In a cocktail shaker with ice shake lemon juice and whiskey until chilled. Pour over honey syrup and stir lightly. Add ice, and drink.
