As summer slowly creeps to a close, it's time to face the fact that soon these all of these delicious fruits and vegetables won't be in season anymore. But there is a solution! Pickling and canning! It's the perfect way to enjoy summer fruits and veggies all year long!
Whether you use the traditional method, or quick pickling, half the fun is exploring new flavor combinations. On of our favorite things to is to add Chili Salt, to the mix of pickling salt, for more depth of flavor.
Whether you are adding Pequin salt, or another favorite varietal one tip to always remember when pickling - using crisp, slightly underripe fruit! It will give your pickles (any everything else) that perfect crisp texture. Happy pickling!
